Textures, curves, folds and curls are what fascinates me about working in metal. Starting with a flat sheet and some hammers and ending with 3D organic or abstract pieces keeps me coming back to the studio day after day. I work in brass, copper and sterling silver.  I occasionally paint some of the metal pieces, but more often use natural patinas or vitreous enamel for color. The final step is combining the metal with stone or wood. Slate and river rock with indigo are usually the bases for my pieces.

My work can be found at Creative Minds Art Gallery, Orcas Island, WA
